Delta Red Carpet Wrap Up

Dinner and a Movie

On Wednesday, May 30, 2018, Denbigh Alumnae Chapter members, family and friends wrapped up an active year of Arts & Letters events with a special, one-time, viewing of movie: “A Chance in the World.”

“A Chance in the World” is the true story of one man’s journey through the foster care system, and his successful determination to rise above it’s challenges. Steve Pemberton is an African American filmmaker and the inspiration for this film. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated member, Kelly Owens, is among the cast.

Before the movie, Denbigh Alumnae members met for dinner and fellowship at Second Street Bistro.

This year, our chapter has highlighted a number of Arts & Letters projects and events, including:

  • We went to see Delta Red Carpet Movie: Black Panther in February.
  • We enjoyed an evening at the Ferguson Center for the Arts and saw Motown – The Musical in April.
  • We featured local author, Dr. Sonja K. Mitchell (Until it Happens To You), and art students from a local high school (Woodside HS) with an artist’s showcase at our 19th High Tea Scholarship Presentation this past April.

Join us to see “Whitney”

We look forward to another chance to gather with friends and family for a viewing of the documentary: “Whitney.” Details of this gathering are to be organized and announced. Keep an eye on this site, and our Facebook and Instagram accounts for updates. Click Here to view the movie trailer.

Thank you for the family and friends who’ve joined us in fellowship throughout the year. And thank you to our Arts & Letters Committee for organizing great gatherings, events, and informing the community about such great projects and events.
